Karnataka Crop Loan Waiver status: The Karnataka state govt issues crop loans to small & marginal farmers of the Kar state and the beneficiaries find it difficult to Clear the Loan amount. Now, the Government has launched a scheme with an objective to waive crop loans up to 2 Lakhs. The Government mentions the launch date of the online loan waiver on 17 December 2018. It is still kept open for the beneficiaries to benefit.

With the raising farmers’ suicides, statistical figures were alarming and the Government of Karnataka comes out with a loan waiver scheme. The objective of the scheme is, first, to reduce the financial burden on debt-ridden farmers. Second, financial support to marginal and poor farmers. third, fresh loans to sow seeds in the upcoming season. 

Karnataka Crop Loan Waiver (CLWS) Status Details

HD Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister, stands for his party manifesto that states the waiver of the marginal and small farmers’ loans. Although the expected burden on the waiver will approximate Rs 53000 crores, he set the path to waiver. While the scheme is kept open, even after one and a half years, the Karnataka government is waiting for the farmers to submit the relevant documents.

The last date set in for the documents is March 31st, 2021. However, the scheme details the important facts, such as the section of farmers exempted for 2 lakh loan repayment. Since the 2018-19 budget, the scheme is estimated to create a burden of INR18000 on the state exchequer and 25 lakh farmers were ticked for scheme approval.

After intensive cross verification of the farmer’s records, it is seen that no individual farmer gets benefited from Commercial and Cooperative sectors simultaneously.

Eligible Beneficiary: Can Submit Documents at a Bank:

The beneficiary is eligible for the Karnataka Crop Loan Waiver but should satisfy the conditions.

1. Farmer must be a citizen of Karnataka, and the loan should be for agricultural purposes.

2. The family members should be agriculturists only. Farmers shall be entitled to a 2 lakh loan waiver provided the primary agricultural credit co-operative society renders the loan.

3. Keeping these in view, the beneficiary is entitled to a loan waiver and hence a banker can be approached.

  • Farmers Identity proof like Aadhar Card or Voter ID Card.
  • Address Proof (Residential Proof)
  • Income Certificate
  • Active Bank passbook Frontpage,
  • Two Passport size photographs,
  • Loan statement,
  • Property documents (land).

Farmers Approach Banks for Online CLWS Application 2021 Submission:

Many small and marginal farmers will have applied for a crop loan waiver scheme that opens a year and a half ago. The process appears simple and can be informative to the readers. Beneficiaries in Karnataka can enroll with the commercial banks at their district level.

3rd Step: Beneficiaries are advised to scroll down the CLWS Home page and check the Crop loan waiver that the government of Karnataka publishes on the official web portal. It is so for those for not receiving any letter of credit from e-banking mode. Steps to check for the names that the list includes for loan waiver.

4th Step: As a beneficiary enters the website, on the data entry page, fill in the details of district name, bank name, and the branch. Click on the export button and beneficiaries can find a list of all farmers for whom the loan waiver scheme is applied. It also reflects the list of farmers who appears in that branch. The Government releases the Crop Loan Waiver individual Loanee Report too.

5th Step: On submitting the login details, the Banker of Commercial banks/ Primary Agricultural Cooperative Banks can drive into Citizen Payment Certificate of primary agricultural cooperative society (PACS), and Citizen Payment Certificate for commercial banks. Banks under varied branches provide loan waived farmer details and can be viewed they are tabulated and updated regularly. The XML documents can be regularly uploaded by bank authorities and under permission can view specific banks branch-wise as well.

How to Check for ‘Loanee Report’ Online:

1st step: In order to check the individual loanee report, applicants should go through the CLWS Karnataka Portal.

2nd Step: Scroll down the page and go through the Services for Citizens section.

3rd Step: The Services of Citizen Section contains the following services such as:

  • Individual loanee report
  • PACS Citizen payment certificate
  • Citizen payment certificates for Banks
  • Farmer wise eligibility Status
  • Crop loan waiver Report.

4th Step: Applicants can click on the individual loanee report and enter it into the next page.

5th Step: You can seek a report by entering the valid Aadhar card Number or ration card number by hitting the Fetch report option.

6th Step: A new report will display on the page. The ‘individual loanee report’ will reflect it as CLWS ID, Name of the District, Name of the Taluk, Bank Name, Name of the Farmer, Ration Card Number, Loan Type, Account Number, and Status. Correspondingly, the bank payment details will reflect it as CLWS ID, Name of the Beneficiary, twelve digits Account Number, Loan Type, Payment Status, and paid to date. For both PACS & Commercial banks, the Individual loan report, and Bank Payment Details, do have the same format.
