TNPDS Smart Ration Card Status: The Tamil Nadu State Government Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has launched a new Scheme namely TNPDS Smart Ration Card/ Electronic Rice Card in December month 2019 and it has been implemented since January 2020. The state government of Tamil Nadu has invited applications of the Smart Ration Card online.
The Smart Ration Card is nothing but an electronic Government Sugar / Rice ration card. The Government of TN State will link this Smart Ration Card to Aadhar Card. The main intention of this scheme is to provide food items like Rice, Sugar, Tool dal, etc for poor and needy people. The Poor & below-poverty eligible beneficiaries will get a white Smart ration card. The state and central government employees will get a pink Smart Ration Card.
The State government will provide Food items like Rice, Sugar, Oil, tool dal, Soap and etc through this Smart ration card to all the beneficiaries who have white Smart Ration Card. The Pink Smart Ration Cardholders will not get any subsidy from the State and Central governments.

TNPDS Smart Ration Card Online apply 2021 Application Form Details
Tamil Nadu Electronic Public Distribution System is shortly called TNPDS. Under this Scheme, the beneficiaries will get subsidy Food Items from the Tamil Nadu State govt. People who have old rice cards are being changed into the New Smart Cards.
After issuing the New Smart ration cards automatically old cards will be disabled. The government of TN is going to release 4 types of ration cards under this scheme.
They are:
- Light Green cards
- White cards
- No commodity card
- Khaki cards
Objective:
The main motto of the TNPDS Smart Ration Card is to provide food items Such as Rice, Sugar and etc for the poor and Economic weaker section families in Tn State. The food items will issue by the State government are 3 kg rice per each Person, 2 KG Sugar, 1 kg tool Dal, 4 soaps, 2 liters of Oil and etc.

Step by Step Process to Correct the name, address &, etc in the Smart ration card?
- To correct your name or address in the smart ration card, beneficiaries can reach the site of TNPDS i.e. www.tnpds.gov.in.
- And Next, Click on the citizens’ login link and open it on the fresh page.
- Enter mobile number and Captcha Code and Click on login.
- After login the page, Click on the smart ration card Edit button.
- Correct your name and address and submit it.
- The Correction department will check the re-application form and issue the new card within 10 days.
The Process to Change Sugar card to rice Card:
- Beneficiaries can change sugar card to rice card by login into the TNPDS web page.
- The Citizens of Tamil Nadu State can visit the TNPDS site and log on the page and change the sugar card to rice card directly.

How to apply for Tamil Nadu Smart Ration Card Online?
1st Step: All Tamil Nadu Citizens and beneficiaries who want to apply for a new smart ration card online can visit the official website which is www.tnpds.gov.in.
2nd Step: Next, you need to “Click on the Smart ration card application registration” link and open it on the new page.
3rd Step: After getting the application form, you will have to fill in the details like the Name of the applicant, Father’s / Husband’s Name, Address 1/ Address 2/ Address 3, Gender, mobile number, Aadhar Number and etc.
4th Step: Next, you need to upload the photo and Aadhar Card (front & backside). Finally, click on the I accept button and submit your application.
