JK Curfew ePass: The State of Jammu & Kashmir is no exception when it comes to the rampant spread of Covid 19 disease in the country. In fact, the curfew that lasted until May 03, 2021, is extended to May 17, 2021. Earlier to May 03, 2021, the State was less vigilant than these days.
In order to curb Covid 19 to the maximum extent, the State imposed stringent measures. The State of Jammu and Kashmir emerges with a new set of guidelines and the Govt. restricts the issue of curfew epass. Not everybody can benefit from it this time.
Jammu & Kashmir Corona Curfew ePass Apply Online
The provision is limited to a few sectors. The government allows citizens to access the official portal. Any citizen who is entitled in accordance with Covid 19 rules can make an entry to apply for e-Pass. The Government has mentioned strictly for the Citizens not to make use of e-Pass unnecessarily. Until a highly essential need arises, do not apply for an ePass.
This may result in not letting the epass for others who might be in absolute need. However, the following are the citizens eligible for applying a curfew ePass. An applicant may find it essential due to a medical emergency or death. It may be even for the hospitalization or hospitalization of a family member.
Govt’s. Innovative Method to filter Unnecessary epass:
The Govt includes home delivery of essential commodities, and Govt. essentials as well. Though the rules say, minimum use of epass in curfew, many fail to notice the threat. The Govt. comes up with an innovative idea in processing the applicant’s epass request form.
The Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir decides to test the online epass applicant. The test will enable the Govt., agencies to filter unnecessary applications. On qualifying the test, an applicant can have a curfew epass.
Services Exempted During Jammu &Kashmir Curfew:
In the curfew period, until May,17,2021, every essential store shall remain open. And, essential services such as ambulance service will operate. In the case of marriages and other family functions and rituals, the Govt. has capped the participants to 25.
Many sensitive areas have been cordoned. Barricades on the roads do block the citizen’s movement. The security forces are on constant move and places where gatherings are found, are removed. Emergency or transportation of essential services is allowed only for epass holders.
Citizens may require to move out for attending emergencies or being a part of the essential services. In such circumstances, the J&K Govt., issues Jammu and Kashmir epass. Below one can find an easy way to register for epass in the simplest manner.
Applying for Jammu and Kashmir epass in Curfew lockdown:
1st Step: Citizens who want to apply for the Corona Curfew ePass should visit the JK Service official website i.e. www.jammu.nic.in/covid19/.
2nd Step: Once the District Jammu Home page gets opened, Applicants should click on the ‘District Jammu epass service’. It will open up a new web page on a new tab.
3rd Step: On the “ePass Requisition Type” page, JK state citizens can select the district and start the enter the Applicants details, Address Details, Vehicle Information. The required details are the applicant’s Full Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, Gender, ID Proof Type, ID Proof Number, Present & Permanent Address, Vehicle Type, Vehicle Registration Number, Request From Date, Request up to Date, Travel Route From (Source), Travel Route To (Destination), Purpose and etc. The format of the JK Curfew ePass is shown below.
4th Step: After filling in the details, select the passport-sized photograph, either from photograph archives or snap a fresh one, and upload it.
5th Step: Next, applicants should tick the self-declaration sheet & further progress and submit the form of Jammu & Kashmir Corona Curfew ePass Online by hitting the submit button.
Note: After submitting the application for ePass online, one should observe the following things to happen. A confirmation message on the screen with registration or application number. The message will be in the SMS box of the registered mobile phone. Keep a note of the SMS message as a source of reference.

Tracking the Status for Jammu and Kashmir epass:
The tracking of the epass status can be performed in simple steps.
1st Step: Open the official web portal at https://jammu.nic.in/covid19/.
2nd Step: Click on the District Jammu epass Service on the home page
3rd Step: On the subhead of ‘District Jammu epass Service’, click the ‘Apply for epass’ and will take it to the next page.
4th Step: Once an applicant finds ‘Track your epass’, the applicant needs to click.
5th Step: On the next page, the applicant will have to click the link to ‘Track Application.’
6th Step: With the opening of a dialogue box, an option is given, asking whether an applicant wants to open using ‘application number’ or OTP.
7th Step: The applicant will have to fill in the details accordingly.
8th Step: Fill in the captcha code, and click the submit button.
8th step: Once submitted, the status of the epass will be on display. In case the epass is approved, the applicant shall have to wait for the email. The mail will provide the epass, it can be downloaded/printed, or stored on a mobile device. In any case, the applicant status shows declined, then it is advised to apply again.
Points to Ponder:
- Citizens must read the instructions and guidelines in J&K epass application carefully. In case the application is improperly filled there is the likelihood of the application being rejected.
- After the approval of the application, an applicant will get a pass-through email.
- The Government’s pass issuing authority has the right to reject the e-pass request. Then, the applicant will get a rejection SMS on the registered mobile.
- The size of the uploading document should be between 20KB and 200KB.
